VCPE Staff


Grace Turner Creasey, M.Ed.
Executive Director

Grace Creasey has served as Executive Director of the Virginia Council for Private Education since November 2017. In this role, she leads advocacy, accreditation support, engagement, and resources for Virginia’s independent-school community.

Creasey also served on the Virginia Board of Education, including as its president, helping guide statewide education policy and uphold high expectations for students across the Commonwealth. Her professional background includes K–12 teaching, school leadership, development, government relations, and education administration. She holds a bachelor’s degree in government from Sweet Briar College and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Richmond.

Additionally, Creasey currently serves as the Chair of the National Council for Private School Accreditation.

Dana Heller
Director of Operations

Dana Heller serves as Director of Operations for the Virginia Council for Private Education (VCPE), where she oversees administrative systems, organizational operations, and resources that support Virginia’s private-school community. With experience in nonprofit management, staff development, and database administration, Dana works closely with VCPE leadership, member associations, and schools to strengthen compliance, improve operational effectiveness, and advance the Council’s accreditation and advocacy mission. Since joining VCPE in 2016, she has contributed to the organization’s capacity and growth while helping schools navigate the practical requirements of operating in Virginia’s private and independent education sector.
